Current County projects underway with major grant funding include a water line extension project, the Street Scape Project and the Museum and Visitors Center. Federal contributors are the Department of Transportation, the Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Rural Development and Environmental Protection Agency. The State Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission also contributed.

Cumberland County has garnered more than $3.5 million in grant funds in the past five years. This money pays for county projects that range from a water system to emergency services communications.
