Sec. 10-31. Enforcement of the comprehensive animal laws.

The enforcement of the comprehensive animal laws of the county shall be vested in the animal control officer.

Sec. 10-32. Code provisions applicable.

All other provisions of Code of Virginia, § 3.1-796.66 et seq., shall apply mutatis mutandis to the animal control officer of the county

Sec. 10-33. Running at large prohibited during certain months; penalty.

  1. It shall be unlawful for the owner or custodian to allow any dog to run at large in the county during the period of March 1 to November 1 inclusive of each year. Any person who permits his dog to run at large or remain unconfined, unrestricted or not penned up during the period specified shall be deemed to have violated the provisions of this section.
  2. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a class 4 misdemeanor and shall be subject to punishment as provided in Code of Virginia, §§ 3.1-796.93, 3.1-796.128.
