The County of Cumberland requires that all dogs four months and older be licensed. Effective November 1, 2019, tags issued for individual dogs are good for the lifetime of the dog and do not require renewal provided the rabies vaccination is kept current. Rabies vaccinations must be valid when the license is purchased. If the rabies vaccination has expired, the current vaccination certificate, which has been signed by a veterinarian, must be presented at the time of purchase.

To purchase kennel tags the purchaser must present, each year, valid rabies certificates for each dog.
