The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors is seeking those interested in serving the residents of the County on the Planning Commission. We are looking to fill two positions:
- 1 appointment needed for District 3 to be effective August 1, 2023 through July 31, 2026
- 1 appointment needed for District 5 to be effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026
Planning Commission: The Planning Commission (PC) is required to serve in an advisory role to the Board of Supervisors and conduct studies of existing local conditions and future trends, to prepare and recommend to the Board a comprehensive plan for the general physical development of the locality and an ordinance to regulate the subdivision of land within its boundaries. The Commission is also responsible for preparing and recommending an official zoning map, and a zoning ordinance. The Commission holds regular meetings monthly, workshops at least quarterly, and special or called meetings as needed. These meetings are typically held at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays. This appointment will be for a three-year term.
