Some County Residents have received emails claiming to be from Cumberland County Departments or Staff requesting payment on receipt for certain services that may or may not been rendered.
Please be aware that:
- Cumberland County will never request payment via wire transfer!
- Official payments are only accepted through our PayGov online system or in person.
- Any legitimate communication from the County will come from a cumberlandcounty.virginia.gov email address.
If you have received a suspicious email 1) requesting payment on receipt, 2) that includes an invoice that is out of the ordinary, or 3) made a payment in response to a suspicious email, please contact the Cumberland Sheriff's Office immediately at 804-492-4120.
